Previous Honeymoon Winners
January 2010

Congratulations to Jo Corlett from Bundaberg for
winning our latest Daydream Island Honeymoon prize. Jo and Terry
were married on Valentines Day 2010 (so that Terry wouldn't forget
their anniversary#!) and they plan to use the Daydream Island
honeymoon prize as their belated honeymoon in August 2010. Jo was
'over the moon' and so shocked to win the Daydream Island prize as
they didn't have a honeymoon due to the expense of paying for their
wedding. They would love to send us photos after their
honeymoon.

Congratulations to Nicole O'Flynn from Elanora on the Gold Coast for winning our
Hayman Island Honeymoon prize drawn in January 2009. Nicole and Paul were really excited and surprised to win the prize. They
were married in November 2009 and used the Hayman Island prize for
their honeymoon as they hadn't booked a honeymoon due to the expense. They have three children under 6 and really
enjoyed their honeymoon getaway. Watch this space for photos.

We had decided not to have a honeymoon because of the cost, so this is the best gift I could have got.
We would like to extend our thanks to Hayman Island Resort for our amazing honeymoon. The 4 nights on Hayman were a
dream. The only thing I could fault was the weather, and that was only because it wasn't perfect -- unlike everything else about
Hayman! It was an amazing week, from the moment we were met at the airport and ushered aboard the launch for the cruise to
Hayman, which in itself was an experience, sipping on sparkling wine and watching the whales and dolphins frolic amongst the amazing backdrop of the Whitsunday islands.

The days on Hayman were fantastic. And the nights -- wonderful dinners at their variety of restaurants and cocktails in the lounge bar before retreating to the comfort of the luxury suite.
We took up the offer of a romantic sunset beach drop off, where we were left on a secluded beach with a bottle of sparkling wine and a picnic basket to watch the sunset...
The staff were courteous, attentive and friendly, and really helped make the experience fantastic!
Hayman is an amazing place, fantastic facilities, and we couldn't have imagined a more wonderful honeymoon!
I also found The Wedding Scene very helpful when I started looking around for celebrants, venues, florist.... well everything... It's a great
site because it "has it all", and like I said this prize is amazing and I am so happy to be able to have a proper honeymoon and be spoilt on a luxury Island resort.
So... I cannot say this enough -- Thank you to The Wedding Scene and Hayman Island for an amazing
unforgettable, perfect Honeymoon! It was the best way possible to start married
life, Renate. |

Congratulations to Erin McCarthy of Mermaid Beach,
Queensland for winning our South Molle Island honeymoon competition. Erin
and Brad were married on 14 April 2007 and were very excited to receive the South Molle Island
honeymoon. |

I just wanted to share some pics of our wedding day and of our honeymoon that we won on South Molle Island. We had such a great day, it was magical. It went to fast though!!

The reception was the greatest party ever! We had it at the same place we got married -- at The Colonial Golf Course Robina. It was such a beautiful and romantic backdrop. We served a buffet dinner which was so yummy, I didn’t each much, too excited! Brad and I had so much fun, but my feet were killing me! We had our first dance to Ben Folds Five’s song “The Luckiest”, that was probably one of my favourite parts of the whole day cause it was the first time all day that it was just Brad and I, sounds weird considering there were over 90 eyes on us but we just zoned in on each other which was very emotional.
Our honeymoon on South Molle Island was the best! It was so relaxing. One of the days we went out to the Barrier Reef and did some snorkelling and Brad tried some scuba diving for the first time. We went on bushwalks around the island, where we saw the most amazing views. We participated in many of the islands activities such as the bird feeding; beach cricket, kayaking and we even attended a class on “how to open a coconut!” When we weren’t doing these things we were very busy drinking cocktails and relaxing on the beach! The staff on the island were so accommodating and by the end of our week on the island we knew them all. Such nice, friendly people.
I found The Wedding Scene website through google. It was the best website I found while planning my wedding because I could tell it what I was looking for and it would get back to me. It was really easy to use. I got heaps of emails back from all my searches.
Thanks, Erin. |
